A Clock On Wheels is locally owned and operated by Vivi Burlacu & son, servicing the greater Charlotte area and beyond. Both are trained technicians, and an authorized service center for Howard Miller, Ridgeway and Sligh clocks.
Whether you need a general servicing, setup before or after a move, a complete overhaul or a new movement install, A Clock On Wheels can help.
- Servicing of floor clocks, wall clocks, mantle and tabletop clocks.
- Repairs and restoration of Herschede, Sligh, Atmos, Tall case, Early American, and French movements.
- Preparation and moving of clocks, including setup and regulation at the new location. If moving to or from out-of-state, please contact us for a quote.
You should have your clock mechanism serviced every 3-5 years. This helps minimize wear and maintain proper filling. Mechanisms around 30 years or older may have significant wear that generally needs to be repaired or replaced.
If your clock isn't keeping time, first locate the adjustment nut. If your clock runs too slow, turn the adjustment nut to the right. If it's running too fast, turn it to the left. Make minor adjustments as needed, set hands to correct time (using only the minute hand) and monitor in 24-hour cycles for best results. Repeat as needed.
If you need repairs outside the state of North Carolina, please let us know. We will try to accomodate for out-of-state repairs. We can be reached by phone or e-mail.
We are open Monday thru Saturday by appointment only. We will try to accomodate any schedule as best we can.
*All service/repair timeframes are estimates and may require further evaluation or adjustments as needed.*
*Warranties may be provided for completed repairs and new movements purchased through A Clock on Wheels.*
