This thread'll start as the paperwork thread for the server where you can put all your cool ideas onto here! We'll start off with my Receipt Paperwork. Remember that there's placeholder text in the paperwork for you to feel AS you are writing it IC. DO NOT FORGET TO ADD STUFF TO THE PLACEHOLDERS.

Here's the pastebin link since Code doesn't seem to work w/ BBCode and spoilers don't seem to be a thing either

Remember to save it onto some notepad file or something for easy keeping and modification! I also recommend changing those altcodes at the top each paper, they're meant to function as sorta Barcodes/Serial Codes. You should keep it starting and ending with ┌ and ┘ respectively. Happy paperworking, fellow Paper Pushers!

Pierre salutes to this glorious scene

BYOND Key: Ursur
In UTC, what time range do you usually play in?: I am available from 7pm. to 3-5am. every day. Half of this time or more I spend playing SS13.
Names of your current and past Persistent characters: Akemi Irsar, Juliet Arceaux, Deirdre Greenwind, Zhao Min
How long have you been playing Space Station 13: About 4 years under various ckeys.
How long have you been playing Persistent Station 13: About 3-4 months.

Have you ever been a staff member for any SS13 servers? (Please state where and how long if you have): Yes. I have been an admin for a bastard Fallout13 server for several months in the spring/summer of 2017, and a moderator on Baystaion for half a year in 2018. I am currently a Mentor on Civ13.

Are you currently banned from any SS13 servers? (Please state where and for what reason if you are): No.

In your opinion, what’s the biggest problem with the server right now, and what would you do to help resolve it?: Lack of accessibility for new players, the rules/server playstyle direction is not transparent enough; elitism among players, OOC snarkiness, especially on Discord. The first issue needs to be discussed and a proper introduction for new players should be prepared. I see tons of people asking beginner questions in discord, which is good, but answers could be supplied by an information page/bulletin or some in-game introduction instead. There needs to be a clear, visible statement for newcomers: This is a Roleplaying server. Here is what can you do on PS13 as examples, so you don't feel lost. Etcetera. And links to more info, straight to the face. Maybe links to how get into roleplaying. It could also help limiting the greytide, with an introduction like this there is no excuse for ignorance. As for the latter issue, I am not sure if anything can be done. Maybe spreading awareness. I can elaborate on player elitism if you want me to.

Answer the following scenarios and how you would deal with them to the best of your ability.

Q: An adminhelp comes in claiming that an individual is griefing a starter station, but the individual is taking part in an organized faction raid. How do you deal with the situation?
A: I am not exactly sure what is the staff policy about relaying OOC information to players - this concern will also relate to my others answers below. If I am allowed to do that, I'd explain to the player what kind of event is taking place and that the raiders/person in question are/is justified. If not, I'd be more indirect but would try to lay out the same in a calm and polite manner. On the other hand, I'd investigate the reported player to make sure they're not breaking any rules just in case, or going overboard with raiding.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who had been killed by another player, claiming that the killer was not RPing and wasn't acting correctly, but the individual had previously kidnapped the killer and tied them to a chair in order to extort them. How do you deal with the situation?
A: I'd check the variables logs to validate the report and get a clearer perspective. I would explain to the killed player that speaking is not mandatory to roleplay out a situation and actions can speak for themselves, while acknowledging that the act was carried out in poor manner. I would also explicitly point out that actions have their consequences and the victim should have been ready for possible revenge. In my eyes, the murderer was justified, given the context and previous roleplaying situations, but the execution of revenge was subpar. I would address the murderer player with this concern, lecture them about more fair/nicer escalation and maybe give some tips about roleplaying. If the murderer player did not ahelp his intentions to kill another player, he would be still punished appropriately and the killed player compensated, preferably after I consult other staff members about the issue.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who claims that a griefer blew up part of their station and vented it. How do you handle the situation?
A: I answer the ahelp and tell them that I will try to handle it. I would check around the area in question for clues, check the people in proximity on aghost, check explosions logs and variables logs of suspected players. I would approach several chosen players with PMs and interview them for more clues. If possible, I would employ other staffmembers to help. I would try to make sure the ahelper was not the culprit and that it was not an accident but a deliberate grief. If a culprit was found he would be interrogated to make sure he had no motif or buildup to the bombing, and a warning or a punishment would be issued appropriately.

Q: When interviewing several individuals after an incident, each of them have a different story about what happened. How do you find the truth?
A: I would try to verify their confessions by talking to other players/witnesses of the issue, and also check variables logs to confirm their versions (attack logs and speech logs). I would try to ask other staffmembers to help to split the workload, maybe try to repeat the interview with players providing mixed reports to solidify their confessions.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who had been killed due to their cryo room being vented. How do you proceed?
A: If they were not in game and were in no power to counteract, I would provide the minimal amount of help to remedy the damage, for example reviving the body to a very damaged state and moving it away a little - if there is no medical staff ready to help and aware of the emergency. If the venting happened because of their own stupidity or carelessness, I would point it out and suggest to be more careful in the future, and provide no help.

Q: You are receiving several adminhelps from one person, claiming that another individual is breaking the rules, but the individual has not breached any rules. How do you handle this?
A: I would try to politely explain to the ahelper that no rules were broken and try to refer to common sense, logic and rules in order to do so. If their reports are unreasonable or a product of frustration, I would sternly warn them to cool off and/or rethink the purpose and manner of ahelping/contacting staff. If thrashing about continues, I'd apply a warning kick first and then escalate as needed.

Q: A player joins the round and immediately begins vandalizing the current station while evading security. You attempt to contact them, but get no response. How do you handle the situation?
A: I immediately freeze their mob and note their ckey/IP. I give them one more chance to start communicating. If they do, I would explain how their actions are considered griefing on the server, and apply punishment proportional to how the conversation goes. Ignorance is not an excuse, but the attitude of the player gives away if they are willing to rehabilitate or not. If no communication is established after the final warning, I ban the player permamently and delete the mob or gib it if it is somehow appropriate for the situation and funny for other players. I'd try to calm down the players agitated by the grief and remedy any extreme damage like deaths or major destruction.

Q: A player adminhelps, and asks how to put duct tape on a piece of paper. How do you handle the situation?
A: If there is no moderators available to handle it, I answer and in a polite and calm manner explain how to put a piece of duct tape on a piece of paper, step by step. To my best knowledge you need to hold the tape in one hand, and click with it on the piece of paper. Or maybe it was the other way round. I don't remember every single fucking detail, but giving attention to players in need and encouraging them to solve the problem together if I'm not sure about something is what counts and works.

Q: A player claims that they were killed and their lace was lost during a restart. No one else can back up this claim, and logs are unavailable. How do you handle the situation?
A: It all depends on circumstances and there are many ways which I could take here. Did they die in combat, by an accident, out of their own carelessness? Is their claim true or are they just ignorant about what happened to the lace, maybe it is elsewhere? I am not sure if there are any tools available to staff to locate laces specifically, if there are, I'd try to use it. I'd try to ask the player what/who the character was and what they expect me to do. If I reckon that the player is not trying to scam me to get a free revive or get some other advantage, and there is no other way to return the character, I would help with getting the character or a just a lace back - I am well aware of how precious a character can be to a person on PS13 and I see no reason to ruin their fun if they have no ill intentions and were just randomly wronged. If reviving, recreating the lace is impossible, I'd suggest re-doing the character in the setup. If I have difficulties confirming the claim I would ask other staffmembers to help and for opinions.

Personal comment:
I've grown to like PS13 a lot, it's very unique and appealing to me and I would like to be a bigger part of it, help to create it and maintain it. I clearly admit I am not extensively knowledgeable about mechanics, especially the particularities of PS13, but I have quite a lot of experience on original  Bay code and I learn fast, and I wish to learn. I'm not a native English speaker as you may have guessed already by the weird choice of words at times, but I think I can handle 95% of conversations pretty well. I consider myself a reserved and reasonable person, I hate smugness and abrasiveness. As an administrator I would focus on upholding a friendly atmosphere, providing help and guidance to players and organizing events to keep the gameplay interesting, which is one of my favourite things to do in general (I have a lot of experience as a game master for tabletop games too.) Thanks for sparing your time to review my app.

About The Species

What alien species are you applying for?
Unathi

How does playing an alien differ from playing a human, and how will you represent this ingame?
I will show the ideals that should be evident in the species behavior, in the Unathi's case.. is a constant businessman etiquette.. always a few steps ahead and dressing sharply as a bureaucrat.. Working to save money and spend less in any cases.

Why do you want to play as the alien species?
I want to give an alienated species a try, with a hopefully-good natured background to thwart a memorable experience of my character and any scenarios he may be in for the persistence that is on the station. I personally love Unathi because of my love for Ferengi on Star Trek, I am hoping to create some interesting lore too if allowed.. in basis of roleplay actions or with the species maintainer(s) themselves.

What are some example names for the alien species?
With clarification from the maintainer, Jhorritikii - I am allowed to do anything as long as it is not severely bizzare, or is not relative to human names or other species. More in a tribal sense it can be traditionalist with families, or a name given for myself (as in some cases are evident in real life.) There is a fine margin with this I'd speculate.

Summarize what you know about the species.

Unathi, from my experience in game.. and particular cheating by asking the Maintainer themselves.. is quite remarkable. Although from what I've read on lore threads.. many on the server like to pick them by what I call the 'tg' aspect.. of how they are portrayed as potentially violent beings and perfect candidates for Security and Operations. Although I would like to give a twist, and surely a remember able twist for my individual Unathi I create if accepted. I will give the lore a good good read and try a basis off that, perhaps go for a banker.. or by all means necessary acquire wealth by the most popular means.

From browsing other applications, which I am guilty of.. I have came to the basis (clearly) that they are reptilian-amphibious creatures, similar to that of a earth lizard. They breed through eggs, so there is surely going to be a lot of them in the galaxy.. similar to that of how family names are given.. so instead of 5 humans being (-Adams) and even branching further because of marriage.. , there can be perhaps hundreds of ... whatever is composed of a family name for the Unathi. This means there can be royalty as well, since wealth is distributed evenly through family.. even though there can be marriage.. the bloodline is in tact with that and genetic features.

Unathi are your usual space bureaucrats, always one .. or even two steps ahead of the person they speaking with or bartering with. This does not mean always though, they can be ill/sick, and having a bad day as the rest of us. However I have some neat lore ideas likely towards (stealing from ST here..) rules of wealth and distribution, religion even perhaps? and a recent idea I brought up to brawler is gold-pressed etheribars. Neat little things as well like a business faction with ranks based on total wealth and past business transactions. Banking would be interesting with the gold-pressed etheribars as well, and it can gain strange attraction from other species.. boosting the value which is in control of a Unathi Financing Commission (?)

Provide an example character bio for your xeno character.

Azaranth Izoth'kil, Age: 56/250~ish life span?

Izoth'kil is an odd-colored and genetically differentiated Unathi, spawn of the many primal eggs of royalty in the Azaranth Family, from the planet Hrothgar.. A harsh tropical planet belonging to a celestial belt of many other planets that compose territorial control of the Azaranth family, and their financial operatives. It never stops raining on Hrothgar, and it is a basis of many trade and cargo freighters in and out of the sector with ties to the Capital Homeworld of Moghes. With this, brings stations and life to the outer part of the frontier. Izoth'kil is one of many to be considered successful in his time, for that he is awared with the highest of honors and has underwent large processes such as family tradition rituals, and genetic-makeup art.. similar to "Tattoos" for humans. This showers him the highest nobility of the Azaranth family, and his future bright as a shining star.

Among the collection of days in the stars that is the frontier, his financial account was siphoned with unclear evidence or tracks within the Grand Banks of the homeworld planet, Moghes. Liquidators of the Unathi Financial Commission were quick to look into this matter, but there was no resolve. For such actions came many temperaments in the great courts of advisors and all the detectives they had to offer. The loss of all this money and gold-pressed Etheribars came with great tirades in the Azaranth Family when Izoth'kil had to break the news to his father, Azaranth Vanikon. He was immediately exiled without question, for without money and wealth in the Azaranth Family. Those who were in poverty were treated no more than exiles and left to utter destitution. Usually those in this state were left in dealing with raiders, smugglers, and mercenaries among stations in outer rim territories.. Including the frontier.

With the exile of him from his ties to Hrothgar and Moghes.. he sets off to cast at the frontier, for which there is many business opportunities awaiting him (such as Persistence Station in it's current and always-present states). He has his mind set for a goal, and that goal is to recover his lost wealth.. perhaps in time finding who took his fortune.. although unlikely.. and even could be an attempt from the Unathi Financial Commission themselves. By all means necessary he will work odd jobs, being two or even three steps ahead than the usual.. and quickly siphoning money from the inexperienced in the ways of barter. People who come across him will eventually leave with a empty wallet.. by legal means of course. When all of Azaranth's money is to be re-acclaimed.. he will finally return to his family a restored man and quick to choose a better bank and means of security for his money.. and to be loved again by his humble Father and Mother.. Azaranth Vanikon and Azaranth Zirimal. The frontier awaits.

EDIT: I ninja edited because a naming Issue? I was told by the user of Jilla? They use their first name in marriage.

BYOND Key:
In UTC, what time range do you usually play in?:

UTC -8 (Pacific Standard.) Usually on in the later PMs and partially into the AMs.

Names of your current and past Persistent characters:

Lance Vikk (former), V'ssuthi Jiila, Aaron White.

How long have you been playing Space Station 13:

Since 2008.

How long have you been playing Persistent Station 13:

Since approximately early to mid August of this year (2018).

Have you ever been a staff member for any SS13 servers? (Please state where and how long if you have):

Yes. I was an admin for a defunct server named Heaven's Gate Station (HGStation) for approximately three months, and a moderator / trial admin for Yogstation for around the same amount of time.

Are you currently banned from any SS13 servers? (Please state where and for what reason if you are):

No. I have been banned in the past from both TG and Yogstation temporarily. (Round/hourban, dayban, no perma.)

In your opinion, what’s the biggest problem with the server right now, and what would you do to help resolve it?:

The environment and air of the server isn't very conducive to promoting a healthy incharacter community directly after the war era, which I aim to help bring back with the new map coming, as well as being available when many other admins have been / are not available. I aim to be active and a healthy addition to the team to help not only fix notable issues ingame and reassure people who I can't help directly, but to help make the PS13 environment conducive to large scale storytelling and worldbuilding.

Answer the following scenarios and how you would deal with them to the best of your ability.

Q: An adminhelp comes in claiming that an individual is griefing a starter station, but the individual is taking part in an organized faction raid. How do you deal with the situation?
A: Simply, I would inquire who the player was and exactly what they were doing, and see if said player is going 'overboard' with their raiding actions, such as killing people without reason and blatant mass slaughter. Of course, mass slaughter isn't okay if your character doesn't have an extremely solid reason to do so. If the in-character events line up to the accused's actions, then there is no need to do much of anything other than reassure the player adminhelping that if they do anything that is against the rules, that they will be dealt with. However, if the accused is going beyond their bounds to ruin other people's gameplay for little reason other than to kill, they will be dealt with via properly escalating punishment, such as warning, character wipes or even bans.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who had been killed by another player, claiming that the killer was not RPing and wasn't acting correctly, but the individual had previously kidnapped the killer and tied them to a chair in order to extort them. How do you deal with the situation?
A: I would look through the logs to determine exactly whether or not the murder was committed with intentions of RP or intentions of straight murder with no RP. If it was done with deliberate attempts of RP from the assailant, I would explain to the victim that his actions were indeed RPed and he had solid ground on his actions committed in-character, though I would reassure him that I would defer this incident to a higher up admin in order to get a second opinion, just in case. This way, the victim does not feel excluded in his personal plight. However, simply, if this murder was committed with no RP, we would go to escalating punishment, such as a stern warning and/or character wipe, or even a ban.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who claims that a griefer blew up part of their station and vented it. How do you handle the situation?
A: I would look through the logs to determine if / when an explosion had taken place and who had triggered said explosion. Again, this depends on whether or not the griefer had IC intentions or not. If I discover who set off the bomb, I would look through that person's IC logs, and if I don't find any evidence in said logs, I would question the individual myself. I would not adminbuild back the station until the certainty of the explosion not being an IC event was absolute.

Q: When interviewing several individuals after an incident, each of them have a different story about what happened. How do you find the truth?
A: The easiest way to find the truth is to tie together similar portions of multiple people's stories, tying common ends together to weave it into the full narrative. It is simply a game of making sense of the story as a whole by analyzing what people have said, cross referencing it against logs and against other pieces of testimony. Whichever person's testimony does not line up to other people's testimony and the logs is the one telling lies, in most cases.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who had been killed due to their cryo room being vented. How do you proceed?
A: I would doublecheck the logs really quick, and if this were the case, I'd simply admin-revive them. Someone dying due to an event out of their control whilst they are offline is not conducive to any kind of storytelling whatsoever, and is a bad experience for all involved.

Q: You are receiving several adminhelps from one person, claiming that another individual is breaking the rules, but the individual has not breached any rules. How do you handle this?
A: I would inform the adminhelper that the individual is not breaching any of the rules, but that if they truly believe rules are being broken, that I would genuinely keep an eye on the 'rulebreaker' to witness any breaching of the rules that he may be suspected of. It's good to ere caution, even in times where it's obvious someone is not breaking rules or being malicious in any way. Of course, I would also watch the person who adminhelped - in the past, I have had diversion tactics slid under me without my notice. It's important to keep an eye on everybody involved.

Q: A player joins the round and immediately begins vandalizing the current station while evading security. You attempt to contact them, but get no response. How do you handle the situation?
A: I would adminfreeze them and question them immediately afterwards. If they refused to speak within a certain timeframe or if they go offline, I would promptly ban their ckey, then and there. Ban evades and OOC grief are not to be tolerated.

Q: A player adminhelps, and asks how to put duct tape on a piece of paper. How do you handle the situation?
A: I would appropriately assist them with the knowledge in my skillset. Mentoring is one of my jobs as an administrator, in my eyes, so I am obligated to help however I can.

Q: A player claims that they were killed and their lace was lost during a restart. No one else can back up this claim, and logs are unavailable. How do you handle the situation?
A: Firstly, I would bring this up to one of the hosts of the server in order to give them a wider scope of what is happening to this person. If they are a longstanding player and their character is well-known and well-RPed, it would usually be determined that they would not be fibbing about this. I would ask further into what transpired to their death. If they were unable to answer, it would put a tad bit of scrutiny on their word, but I would continue to do my best as to solve the mystery, especially if the character is a well known one. If their character is not well known and/or the player behind said character is malicious and/or a menace, even further scrutiny would have to be employed on the validity of their claims.

How long have you been playing on Persistence?

About four months.

Mei Kuo, Matilda Goose

About The Species

What alien species are you applying for?

Unathi

How does playing an alien differ from playing a human, and how will you represent this ingame?
Playing an alien requires a much greater understanding of the lore than playing a human. You have to get into the mindset of a completely alien culture and bring it to life. This means not only avoiding common human cultural tropes, but also inventing new cultural details consistent with the alien’s established lore. Alien physiology is different from that of a human in ways not always mechanically or visually apparent, these traits require thoughtful role-play. When one plays an alien you end up in situations where you must represent that entire species to the human community. Players of alien characters have a greater responsibility to raise the quality of RP on the server.

Why do you want to play as the alien species?

I’m going to need a new character for the new-map. I’ve been eyeing the Unathi white-list for awhile and attempting to learn the lore. My previous characters have been fairly conflict adverse and not adaptable under all circumstances. I’d like an opportunity to do something different this time and I believe an Unathi character would fit well into that. The Unathi affinity for trade and business appeals to me as someone who enjoys the economic role-play. I want to get immersed into a new role and I think this is likely the most edifying route I could choose.

What are some example names for the alien species?

Kro’sur Dwissk
Juud’nka Wessk
Amzuur Emiiaz

Summarize what you know about the species.

The Unathi are an intelligent humanoid species that resemble Earth lizards. They’re cold blooded and reproduce by laying eggs, often in large shared hatcheries. Traditionally Unathi politics was organized around clans formed based on shared ideals. In more recent times the clans have evolved into large corporations but they still retain distinct cultural values that distinguish them from Human notions of business. Unathi are generally less territorial than Humans, preferring to fight over status and trade rights rather than land. They can have furious tempers when double-crossed or slighted, but are generally friendly. Many space-faring Unathi have adapted to human social norms in order to facilitate better business relations. Unathi are honest and speak up when they believe bad business is going on. They prefer skilled professions and will turn down work that they consider undignified or menial. Above all else Unathi are ambitious, hardworking, and adaptable.

Provide an example character bio for your xeno character.

Dwissk was a lost egg found in a disposal bin behind a scale-salon. The egg was noticed by the salons owner who presented it to the customers waiting inside. The patrons of the salon were aghast and debated the correct course of action. A lone egg is trouble, old songs always tell the truth of this. After some time they came to the conclusion that smashing the egg was the only reasonable action. And so the salon owner agreed to smash the egg later that night after closing. When the customers had left, the owner took the egg to the Dv’aanen clan hatchery. It was there that Dwissk grew up and formed her first impressions of the world. The Dv’aanen ideals revolve around what humans would call recycling, but the concept extends beyond materials. As a provisional clan member Dwissk was assigned to only the lowest of duties. The Unathi word for such people is derived from the name of a small snail like pest that inhabits refuse. It translates roughly as “shell-clutcher” the joke being that these low Unathi have little in life besides the egg shells they were born from. Young Dwissk worked hard and made every effort to join the clan properly. But when she was finally offered a place in the clan it was doing the same menial labor other Unathi wouldn’t do. Furious at her treatment she left the clan and struck out on her own. It was in this time that she met other so-called shell-clutchers who had formed their own loose “clan” and embraced the label as a virtue. They took her in and taught her how to survive and thrive on the edges of Unathi society. She chose “Kro’sur” as her class name, the very label that had once been a cruel insult. Some years later Dwissk stowed away on a transport headed for human space where she learned the basics of galactic common. Over the years she traveled widely until finally arriving in the frontier.

Names of your current and past Persistent characters: Aurora Wright, Katherine Sinclair, Ashley Cohen
How long have you been playing Space Station 13: I've been using multiple accounts to get the hang of the game in single player and small servers for about a year and 3/4, but officially I've been playing for around a year, since October-November 2017
How long have you been playing Persistent Station 13: Played a lot during the Refugee/Entrepreneur Station era, then recently started playing the new code about 3-4 weeks ago.

Q: Have you ever been a staff member for any SS13 servers? (Please state where and how long if you have):

A: I was a Head Admin on BeeStation, trying to advocate against the adminbus for about 6-7 months before ultimately quitting to work on a more RP server.

I moderated and coded a bit on SCP13 for around 4-5, ultimately quitting because of internal arguments with management and generally disliking the direction the server was going.

I've coded on OBS1, but project is kinda dying.

I've been working on a personal project for porting Paranoia: Alpha Complex to SS13, though that hardly counts.

I've also staffed on non SS13 servers such as Star Wars RP on Gmod, some Russian Gmod Dark RP.

Q: Are you currently banned from any SS13 servers? (Please state where and for what reason if you are):

A: I'm not currently banned from playing on any servers.

Q: In your opinion, what’s the biggest problem with the server right now, and what would you do to help resolve it?:

A: Right now, a big problem is the lack of admins online at GMT+1 lowpop. Another problem is the lack of code diversity for small things.

Timezone-issue wise I can be on quite a bit, and can usually log on at odd hours as well, if needed.

Code wise, I believe I can help as well. My failed ammo fab that was ultimately passed onto someone else, and my current modular guns project is something that should help.

Answer the following scenarios and how you would deal with them to the best of your ability.

Q: An adminhelp comes in claiming that an individual is griefing a starter station, but the individual is taking part in an organized faction raid. How do you deal with the situation?

A: I'd inform them that I'm looking into the issue. I'd then check the raiders notes to see if they have previous notes of such incidents, and then look at logs for obvious signs of random grief. After that'd, I'd PM them to ask them what they're doing. If they didn't know, I'd warn them, assuming there was still RP, and link them the rules. If they claim to have a staff members permission, I'd contact the staff member to confirm. If they did in fact have permission, I'd ask them to limit damage to not completely destroy everything, and leave cryo rooms and such intact. If they lied about staff permission, there would be bans or a warning for grief and lying to staff, depending on the level of RP and grief.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who had been killed by another player, claiming that the killer was not RPing and wasn't acting correctly, but the individual had previously kidnapped the killer and tied them to a chair in order to extort them. How do you deal with the situation?

A: I'd inform them that I'm looking into the issue. Then, I'd look into chat logs and attack logs to see if the claims were true. I'd then PM the attacker, to get their side of the story. Judging from the level of RP, it'd either be an IC issue, if it was RPed well. Otherwise, it might be a warning or a temp ban if it was closer to "Chloral syringe, apply crowbar to head".

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who claims that a griefer blew up part of their station and vented it. How do you handle the situation?

A: I'd inform them that I'm looking into the issue. First, I'd check logs to see if any messages such as "ass blast USA" or other common griefer messages. If nothing similar is found, I'd ask the griefer about his part of the story. If he was an obvious troll, or lacked RP, I'd hand out a temp ban. If, however, it was an RP, potentially corporate sabotage, I'd tell the alleged griefer that it was valid, but to refrain from damaging cryo rooms.

Q: When interviewing several individuals after an incident, each of them have a different story about what happened. How do you find the truth?

A: I'd first get all of the stories, and write them down. Then, I'd look through chat logs and attack logs. Then, VAR fingerprint logs and similar VAR logs.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who had been killed due to their cryo room being vented. How do you proceed?

A: I'd teleport them to a safe area on that station, unless it happens to be an example similar to that of Cythos, in which case they would be teleported to the starter station. They would then be revived. Engineers would be SMed or PMed about the issue, or, if none are available, I'd use buildmode to manually fix it.

Q: You are receiving several adminhelps from one person, claiming that another individual is breaking the rules, but the individual has not breached any rules. How do you handle this?

A: I'd inform them I'll look into the issue. I'd ask them to refrain from sending multiple ahelps, as well. After thoroughly checking that the accused player has not broken any rules, I'd reply to the accuser with such information, calling it an IC issue but giving them a forum link to the player complaint area, if they'd like to make a complaint.

Q: A player joins the round and immediately begins vandalizing the current station while evading security. You attempt to contact them, but get no response. How do you handle the situation?

A: I'd teleport them to an admin prison or secluded area, via get-mob and then use the paralyse verb, since nobody likes getting beaten by sec due to being paralyzed in a hallway. I'd then PM them, asking hem about what they did. If I receive a rude answer, they would receive an appealable temp ban, with a link to the forums. If they log out, I'd wait a bit in case it was an actual internet problem. If they do not log back in, they would receive an appealable temp ban with a forum link. Finally, if they appear new to the game, I would give them a warning, and a link to a starter guide and the rules.

Q: A player adminhelps, and asks how to put duct tape on a piece of paper. How do you handle the situation?

A: I'd inform them that gameplay questions that aren't IC in OOC should be asked in OOC or LOOC. I'd then proceed to tell them how to put duct tape on paper, and then wish them a good round.

Q: A player claims that they were killed and their lace was lost during a restart. No one else can back up this claim, and logs are unavailable. How do you handle the situation?

A: I'd ask around for other members of staff and players who happened to know the player. If a sufficient amount of staff or players agree, I'd spawn the lace in medical. If a player or staff member can provide screenshots, I'd do the same. If neither of these happen, I'd continue to look for other sources of evidence.

How long have you been playing Space Station 13: Since the 24th November 2014
How long have you been playing Persistent Station 13: On and off since it's launch though I've been playing a lot recently and plan to continue.

Have you ever been a staff member for any SS13 servers? (Please state where and how long if you have):

Riftstation for a few months but it died before even launching.

I'm currently a Senior Admin on Halo: Space Station Evolved and have been on their staff team for awhile now. I can't remember how long exactly but it's about a year or so. Though the server regularly goes down for long periods and when it's up there's low amounts of players on or none at all.

Are you currently banned from any SS13 servers? (Please state where and for what reason if you are):

I'm banned on no servers.

In your opinion, what’s the biggest problem with the server right now, and what would you do to help resolve it?:

At the moment the biggest problem for me is that no one is really on for me during the day time which is probably because of my timezone and when people are on there isn't much interaction which is probably due to the impending wipe.

Timezone wise I can be on to administrate during the day and then at night since I regularly play on servers for 24+ hour periods at a time.

Wipe doom wise I can encourage players to interact instead of sitting around and waiting for their paycheck all day.

Answer the following scenarios and how you would deal with them to the best of your ability.

Q: An adminhelp comes in claiming that an individual is griefing a starter station, but the individual is taking part in an organized faction raid. How do you deal with the situation?
A: I'd inform them that I'm looking into the situation then I'd check the raiders notes while looking at the logs after that I'd contact them asking them what they're doing and if they have permission to raid the station. If they claim to have permission from an Admin I'd ask them which admin while checking for recent ahelps and contacting other staff members. If they did have permission I'd inform them to limit their raid to none major damage only. If they had no permission then I'd warn them and create a new note while telling them to limit their raid.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who had been killed by another player, claiming that the killer was not RPing and wasn't acting correctly, but the individual had previously kidnapped the killer and tied them to a chair in order to extort them. How do you deal with the situation?
A: I'd inform them that I'm looking into the situation while checking notes, chat logs & attack logs to see if the claims are true or not. I'd then
contact the attacker to get their side and depending on the level of roleplay and if they have permission I'll either issue a temporary ban, warning or tell them to deal with it IC.

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who claims that a griefer blew up part of their station and vented it. How do you handle the situation?
A: I'd inform them that I'm looking into it then I'll check the logs to see if there's anything amiss and if I find enough evidence to reasonably confirm a griefer then I'd contact them to ask them what they're doing and what they're reasons are. If I find that it was vaild I'd do nothing while noting the situation but if it wasn't valid and they caused significant damage I'll most likely give them a temporary ban and make a note.

Q: When interviewing several individuals after an incident, each of them have a different story about what happened. How do you find the truth?
A: [b]I'd get all sides of the story while checking notes, chat logs, attack logs and fingerprints[/b]

Q: An adminhelp comes in from an individual who had been killed due to their cryo room being vented. How do you proceed?
A: I'd teleport them to a safe area while giving them an aheal. I'd then contact the available engineers to tell them that they will have to repair the room and if none are available I'd fix it myself with build mode.

Q: You are receiving several adminhelps from one person, claiming that another individual is breaking the rules, but the individual has not breached any rules. How do you handle this?
A: I'd inform them I'll look into it and that they should make a player report on the forums instead of sending multiple ahelps.

Q: A player joins the round and immediately begins vandalizing the current station while evading security. You attempt to contact them, but get no response. How do you handle the situation?
A: I'd use the paralyse verb on them while PMing them. If I get no reply or a less than appropriate message I'd issue a ban but if I get a reply and they turn out to be new to the game I'd issue them a warning while sending them information on the basics of SS13.

Q: A player adminhelps, and asks how to put duct tape on a piece of paper. How do you handle the situation?
A: I'd inform them that they should ask someone over OOC or LOOC since ahelps isn't for questions like this, I'd then tell them how to put the duct tape on the paper.

Q: A player claims that they were killed and their lace was lost during a restart. No one else can back up this claim, and logs are unavailable. How do you handle the situation?
A: I'd ask other members of staff and other players if they have any information at all while checking discord to see if they asked in there. I'd then spawn them in a lace and place it in a public area visible to other players.

How long have you been playing on Persistence?

For a good few months now, probably not the most well known player but I do spend a lot of time on the server.

What are the names of your better-known characters?

Sain Torin, the doctor who refused to allow the once NT Medbay to be closed down an abandoned, regardless of how empty the station was at the time. Many long hours spent working chemistry, the morgue, general medicine and surgery on and off in what was for a while an almost entirely single man operation.

About The Species

What alien species are you applying for?

Vox! Everyone's favorite strange bird-lizard creatures of strange and wondrous design. That's generally answered by my opening subject, but it never hurts to mention again that I'm looking to play a strange alien with a equally strange mindset.

How does playing an alien differ from playing a human, and how will you represent this ingame?

Every alien species generally brings it's own mix of play style into the RP. Vox follow an almost unquestionable sense of "big brother is watching" with the Auralis to make things short and sweet. Anyone who's goal to play a Primalis should know that their character has a job, and is trained to do that one job to the best of their provided abilities. There's also a deep sense of connection to other vox, a shoal consists of generally speaking all vox in a centralized location, on a ship, station, the like. Other vox are to be treated as 'family', even if there's no real genetic ties.

Why do you want to play as the alien species?

The RP on the station could use a mix up in it's current style. Most of the station consists of Humans and Unathi. There used to be one vox, but I saw them very sparingly and it was safe to say that they were seen as more of a 'meme'  (builds turret, eats rotten organs and sleeps in a chest). While that's a good character with interesting things going on, I'd love to see a more varied branch of races getting more into the mix of RP, bringing their racial views and styling into the light.

[b][b]What are some example names for the alien species?[/b][/b]

Vox names vary from even more than what I've seen in most races across Space Station 13. They're almost addressed more as a signifying gutteral cawing that's adjusted by humans and the like into something short and effective. More like their own in many cases. Examples might be more from experimental rolls of my fingers across the keyboards, but to get that harsh "cawing" style that seems prevalent a bit of adjustment is needed.
Here's a few ideas: Bokkiscraaw, Irikikiali, Tarakaeinka

Summarize what you know about the species.

Vox are a complicated race to whom most races find them more a patchwork guessing game than have real answers on what to expect. Their technological level is generally considered advanced, though it's unsure if that's because of their lengthy survival as a race, or that they've collected a vast array of dead civilization tech and haphazardly pushed all the buttons until they found out how it worked. Vox are also strict followers of their social hierarchy, you'll never see a Primalis question or backtalk the Auralis who makes demands of them. To do so would put their entire being at risk in short order, and who wants to be wiped clean and become a living shell again?
It's also important to stress again the importance of knowing their place in the world, if they're security vox, or a chef, or a janitor.. you can bet they're going to be the best damn chef or janitor the station has ever seen, even if they're confounded by the idea of injecting people with medications and how that would even work.

[b][b]Provide an example character bio for your xeno character.[/b][/b]

[b][b]While I can't take all of the credit, Iiskriani the Hero and myself played around on discord with the idea of at least one vox that might provide some humor to the station as well as be a legitimate RP character in it's own right.[/b][/b]

[b][b] While the name of the actual vox might differ "Boxxisroxx" was a humorous take on the idea of an EMT-based Vox. Once a package or shipment based Vox, said being was wiped for perhaps not following her duties well, or questioning it's auralis. No one can say for sure, not even Box, seeing as how she was wiped clean of her previous knowledge. Not being used to heal and escort the injured, Rox seems to care little for the organization or sorting of things. Yet she still appears to have some base attachement to boxes themselves. It makes EMT work enjoyable for her, seeing as she carries injured people to the medbay and places them into a safe little scanny-box that shows what exactly is wrong with them. Perhaps followed up with a lay down in the sleepy-box to recover from a long day's space exposure.[/b][/b]

[b][b]For the life of her she can't seem to figure out why boxes are just so nice.[/b][/b]

About The Species

What alien species are you applying for?

Unathi

How does playing an alien differ from playing a human, and how will you represent this ingame?

Unathi are completely different from humans, if you play one of them they will react differently to different situations then a human possibly would. While playing as one you would want to think over situations and how they will react, keeping Unathi lore in mind.

Why do you want to play as the alien species?

The Unathi I have seen on the server seem interesting and different, and I think it would be interesting to make my second character a Unathi, if I pass this application. The Unathi lore I have read on the wiki also sounds rather interesting and I like the concept of different sentient species in sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

What are some example names for the alien species?

Some names such as Teindul Pecalees, Heedeeixth Tikeermesh and Akih'r Caleegoulus could be fitting, Unathi names. These names often have harsh consonants, long vowels at the front and short at the back.

Summarize what you know about the species.

Physically, Unathi are usually somewhat larger then humans, being around 2 meters tall on average. Being reptiles, they are cold blooded

and normally come in colors like green or yellow. (other colored Unathi do exist though). Eye colors other then golden brown are seen as rare and interesting to others of the species. Their heads vary quite a lot between individuals. Also they have tails.
Unathi are friendly, if a bit shrewd. The females are normally easier to anger then the males. They dislike bad deals going on.
Their home world is on a tilted axis, meaning the northern half gets more sunlight then the south. Most of the life on this planet is on the northern part and the planet itself is a bit bigger then Earth. There are large seas on the Unathi home world, although there are no big oceans. The equator region of their homeworld is a barren and arid place, and on the south half there are tundras. On the northern half there are jungles and lush life.
Early Unathi society is similar to that of Humans, but there was not conflict, they instead traded with each other. The species often worked together as a whole to help out others of their own. But later on wars started over trading right, those fighting were told they would get some of the profits. Now, in modern times  the Unathi are together under one "Planetary body". Though different nations still exist, their trade is watched by a governing body. This is made up of large Leaders and businesses. The Unathi do have an army, but they mainly fight for others for profit. More of the Unathi force are mercenaries though, which they are well known for. They will do almost anything where rewards outweigh risks.
Smaller Unathi companies have ties to large companies, at least until they can branch out on their own.
To sum it up, the Unathi are a rather business orientated race and like to do things to make a profit

[b]Provide an example character bio for your xeno character.[/b]
I am thinking of the name Onasha Tikeerdesh for my character
She would be 43 years old and recently have traveled out to the frontier Hoping to make money. She would be more polite then most other females of her species.
She grew up on her homeworld, her family are engineers and from a young age she took on an interest in their work. She helped out working on machines when she was old enough, learning from her parents and from the engineering school she attended

About The Species

What alien species are you applying for?
Vox

How does playing an alien differ from playing a human, and how will you represent this ingame?
Playing a alien is very different compared to a human, because you need to know all the lore behind the alien and try to role-play its background as best as you can.

Why do you want to play as the alien species?
Because their lore seems very intriguing and it would be quite the story seeing a Vox on the frontier.

What are some example names for the alien species?
Chartiakichi, Tarjnina, Lexeinga

Summarize what you know about the species.

Most of the lore suggests Vox are wholly artificial and seem to recycle old tech found around the universe hoping to ride there way to a better civilization. Most of vox lifes are spent on arkships, giant spaceships that act as homes for most vox.

Siclingkakaka better known as Kaka is a Primalis with light brown feathers and a green tinge they tend to hang around card games other vox play.
